Maui Lani is at the heart
of some of Maui's best golf and is home to The Dunes
at Maui Lani golf course, the No. 10-ranked course
in Hawaii, according to GOLFWEEK. Also within 15 minutes
from Maui Lani is the Maui Country Club, Waiehu Municipal
G.C., and Sandalwood G.C.
But golf is not the only game in town for the residents
of Maui Lani; there are also a number of the best
surfing, snorkeling, diving, fishing, wind-and-kite-surfing
beaches in the world-all located within 15 minutes
from the entrance to Maui Lani.
War Memorial Stadium, host of the globally-televised
annual Hula Bowl college all-star football game, is
also home to many of Central Maui's Pop Warner and
High School football teams. The field, which is surrounded
by Maui's finest quarter-mile track, is also used
for Central Maui's top track and field events, with
its grandstand seating capable of accommodating thousands
of spectators.
The Iron Miyahara Baseball Stadium is located next
to the War Memorial Stadium, and within the same complex
is a County Aquatic Center with a 50-meter pool and
its own grandstand seating. There are also tennis
courts, a half-pipe for skateboarders, and a full-length
soccer field all located within walking distance from
these major facilities at Ke`opulani County Park.
Cyclists and runners alike can enjoy safe, wide-open
roadways, many of which have limited traffic. One
of Maui's most popular bike routes is around the West
Maui Mountains. The Jim Stuart Memorial bike race
takes place each year, when cyclists from all over
compete along one of Maui's most scenic and challenging
routes, located less than a mile away from Maui Lani's
entrance.
The Maui Marathon, a fall classic, always begins
at the Queen Ka`ahumanu Shopping Center, just two
minutes away from Maui Lani. Whether one is seeking
to bike or run on hilly terrain, or just take a stroll
on a flat easy walkway, Maui Lani has it all.
